Tomo is an innovative web3 SocialFi application that empowers users to invest, contribute, and engage directly with their favorite creators. One of the key advancements in the Tomo dapp is the implementation of smart contract wallets that utilize ERC-4337l, a proposed Ethereum standard also known as Web3 Single Sign-On. The standard uses account abstraction technology, aimed at reducing the friction users experience while using web3 wallets and interacting with decentralized applications (dapps) .Specifically designed for seamless onboarding, ERC-4337 wallets aim to replicate the familiar user experience of web2 applications.

What Are the Features of Tomo?

• Effortless Sign-up: Users can register on Tomo with ease using their Google, Apple, or other email. In addition, users can also sign up via X (formerly Twitter) if they want to connect their social profiles to their Tomo profile.

• Built-in Smart Contract Wallet: Upon registration, users are automatically assigned an ERC-4337 smart contract wallet within the app. Users have complete control over the wallet and can be ready to transact after depositing a tiny amount of ETH into the wallet.

• Automated Bridging: Users can deposit ETH into their Tomo wallet through the Ethereum network and it will automatically bridge to Linea. The bridge feature works only when funds are deposited from an externally-owned account (EOA) wallet. Currently, the Tomo bridge supports deposits from wallets such as Metamask and Trust Wallet, and also from binance.com.

     Users can also deposit ETH directly on Linea.

• Seamless & Lightning-Fast Transactions: Tomo handles transaction signing, providing a one-click buy user experience. Transaction finality time is significantly reduced.

• Low Gas Fees: Tomo operates with exceptionally low gas fees, with Linea's fees being on average 15x cheaper than Ethereum's, and further reductions planned for the future.

• Secure Chatting: Tomo users can send messages, pictures and also ETH to each other within the chat. Some advanced features like end-to-end encryption, "burn after reading", and screenshot prevention to prevent messages from being leaked are also in the works.

• Multiple Feeds: Tomo users can easily find out what’s going on as the app offers various types of feeds, where users can follow the trading history of their own keys, an activity feed of all the users whose key they hold, as well as a global activity feed for votes and keys.

How Does Tomo Work?

The key philosophy behind Tomo is to revolutionize the way influencers and their followers interact with each other. Here are the ways that Tomo is working towards that goal:

Proof of Supporting

Tomo users can forge lasting connections with each other through Tomo’s Proof of Supporting Mechanism. By holding a Vote or Key, a blockchain-based contract is established between the follower and creator, ensuring future interactions via direct messages and the creator’s private chat room.

Followership Sharing Economy

Tomo aims to redefine profit-sharing between creators and their followers. We challenge the traditional followership model where influencers are the sole beneficiaries, leaving their dedicated followers unrewarded. At Tomo, creators and followers collaborate to maximize and share their earnings.

Votes

Users can express their expectations for a creator through a voting mechanism before the latter joins Tomo. If a creator has not yet signed up for Tomo, users can already purchase Votes for the creator which will turn to Keys when they register on Tomo. The Vote system is one of the key innovations of Tomo.

Vote Fees

Tomo charges a 10% royalty fee for any vote transactions. Half of this fee, i.e.5%, goes to the creator when they register on Tomo. The remaining 5% royalty fee is retained by the protocol, which will be refunded to the vote holders if the creator does not claim the fees within six months of the first vote being purchased.

More votes translate to higher anticipation for the creator's presence on the platform. Vote holders will also gain access to a group chat dedicated to the creator they voted for and they can then discuss ways to get the creator to join Tomo.

Keys

Once a creator joins Tomo, votes are converted into keys, enabling vote holders to send direct messages to the creator and be in a group chat with other key holders and the creator. Similar to votes, keys are tradable with the same 10% fee, split 50/50 between the creator and platform.

Bonding Curve

Tomo employs a unique bonding curve mechanism to determine the pricing of votes and keys. The price of a vote follows a distinctive bonding curve, rapidly increasing with demand for votes.

This curve allows users to anticipate any pricing impact based on outstanding votes/keys supply and ensures sufficient liquidity within the platform.The bonding curve is designed to recognize and benefit early supporters as the creators grow within the network.
