Aave Ghosts Linea, Rewards on MetaMask Card and More

This week on Linea was big as we welcomed Aave and the full power of defi to the network. Cashback rewards started flowing to MetaMask Card users, ENS shared the future of rollups and devs kept cooking. Here’s a quick run down in this print version of the weekly Sequencer:

The big headline in Frogtown this week was Linea getting ghosted by the apparition with the APRs - none other than Aave, which deployed its V3 on Linea earlier this week.

I had plenty more thoughts about what it means in a larger historical context over on X:

MetaMask Card holders are also just beginning to see the benefits of using their crypto IRL with 1% cashback in USDC (on Linea).

Early access to the card is available in Brazil, Colombia, the EU, Mexico, Switzerland, US (excl. New York and Vermont), and the UK - with more coming. Cash back is currently only enabled for $USDC transactions but will soon be enabled for ALL transactions. Get all the details here.

In case you missed it, our friends at ENS shared a little from behind the scenes of a recent workshop with Linea and others on the future of native and based rollups, Namechain and more.

If you’re a builder, check out the Linea Dev Cook-Off, underway now! Start a new project, iterate on an ongoing one, or revive and refresh that old side project you want to return to. Sign up here and be one of the 10,000 USD prize pool winners.

Suza and I will dig into all this and more on the Sequencer livestream Thursday, February 13 @⏰ 5:00 PM (ET) with guests from Aave, Nile, Toads Society and Phosphor. 📍Join us On X & YouTube!

If you missed last week’s Sequencer here’s just a couple outtakes, starting with my hot take on why we're seeing leaders like Donald Trump and his family start to take crypto seriously.

See you next week!- EricMack.eth
